D1 Itinerary

First, check in at the Trailhead Service Station of Xue Mountain at 2140m elevation, which has three delicious ice cream flavors: strawberry, high-mountain osmanthus oolong, and freshly picked guava. They also sell coffee! Since this is a one-way traverse with no doubling back, buy what you want to eat now.

Past the trailhead service station there's a small pond — turn around and you can photograph the sky and mountains reflected in it. Once you're done, head up the stairs toward Qika Cabin; it's not far, almost the whole way is man-made steps, and it takes about an hour to get there. We stayed overnight at Qika Cabin.
